So in this world I'm inventing I decided there should be giants and dwarves. Both come from the ground; one dwells above it, the other in it. The giants (mountain giants to be specific) were created to be the tenders and movers of mountains. They are very few, as they do not multiply. They consider the mountains to be their "children."THEY SLEEP.
Every several hundred years they awaken from their long sleep to raise and tear down their charge of mountains. Not many have seen these giants, as they sleep for many, many years, and when they sleep they seem to become one with the mountains. At times civilizations would build upon them in hibernation, and slowly be destroyed in it's waking. Imagine those stumbling upon them sleeping, thinking they were but the ruins of a once great society.
THE AFFAIRS OF MORTALS
The giants have never interfered with the doings of mortal races. They are slow to awaken, slow to anger, slow to move, and slow to change. Even the dwarves cannot stir the hearts of the giants, though they are thought to be akin. It would seem to some that they do not care about anything or anyone, but that is a falicy. They care deeply for the earth.
